03For children and teenagers
Children who learn tothink creatively don’tjust get better at art.
They become better at having ideas, solving problems, taking creative risks and finding their own way forward.

Creativity is not simply about drawing well. It is learning how to begin when the page is blank. How to explore an idea rather than wait for the right answer. How to experiment, make mistakes, adapt and develop the confidence to make something that is genuinely their own.
Starting January 2027
Both courses are limited to six students. Register your interest now and you will hear before places go on general sale.

One theme, three ways of working, six weeks, and a body of work at the end of it.
Working from natural forms, shells, seed pods, leaves and feathers, young people learn to draw what is actually in front of them, mix colour with real understanding, paint properly, and then layer, tear and collage into that painting to make something unexpected.
Each session opens with ten minutes on one artist, so they leave knowing something about art as well as how to make it. Everything they make goes home with them on the day.
What they will cover
- Week 1Drawing: learning to see. Line, contour, negative space, proportion
- Week 2Drawing: form. Tone, light and shadow, making things look solid
- Week 3Colour. Mixing properly, warm and cool, tints and shades, mark making
- Week 4Painting. Composition and scale, a finished piece on canvas board
- Week 5Mixed media. Collage, texture, torn and printed paper worked into the painting
- Week 6Resolving and presenting. Finishing, mounting, and a proper look at everyone’s work

Design a fragrance brand from nothing, and pitch it.
Over six weeks each student researches a real market, invents a brand, names it, designs its logo and its bottle, builds a physical prototype, engineers the packaging, creates the advertising and the social media, sets a price, and then pitches the whole thing to the group.
This is design and technology, business and creative thinking together. It is the closest thing to how a real product actually gets made, and it teaches the skill that matters most: how to have an idea and then make it real.
What they will cover
- Week 1The market. Competitor analysis, positioning, defining a customer
- Week 2The name. Naming techniques, brand personality, tone of voice, mood board
- Week 3The identity. Typography, colour psychology, designing the logo
- Week 4The bottle. Silhouette sketching, ergonomics, starting the model
- Week 5Prototype and packaging. Finishing the bottle, building the 3D carton
- Week 6To market. Advertising, social media, pricing, photography, then the pitch

Why creativity matters now
The world our children are growing into is changing rapidly. Knowledge matters. Qualifications matter. But young people also need the confidence to think for themselves, to question, imagine, solve problems, adapt when something does not work, and turn an idea into something real.
Creativity is not an extra. It is a way of thinking, and it can be developed.
“Most of the jobs your children will do haven’t been invented yet. I can’t teach them the answers. I can teach them how to find them.”
